On the other hand Salkantay 3D/2N Shortened to Machu Picchu the transport will take you until Soraypampa and you will start walking from there to Chaullay so you will scape the coldest campsite at Soraypampa

Day 01: Cusco – Soraypampa- Chaullay

We pick you up at 3:00 am from your hotel and travel by bus to mollepata and then Soraypampa. A 5 hour walk will take us to soyroqocha where we will have the lunch with the beautiful capped Salkantay mountain ; 6271m/20575ft) We will begin our climb to the higesht point on this trek which is on 4 650 m.a.s.l15200 ft. Taking in the beautiful landscape along the way and once we get to the top the pass we go down to the campsite of Arrayanniyoq or Chaullay depends how you walk the first day.

Day 02: Arrayanniyoq – Chaullay – Collpapampa – La playa

After the breakfast we go down (downhill) through a dramatic cloud, where we will have lunch. After the lunch in the direction of the start of the jungle until we reach the upper jungle crossing the Lluskamayo or luch stopvariety of little brooks to reach La Playa late in the Afternoon we can go to the Natural Hotspring of Santa Teresa (this service is optional and you need to pay for the round trip bus from La Playa to The Hotspring). Today we will pass through valleys and have wonderful views of waterfalls, tropical fruits and plants.and also we ery warm area (optional visit the Natural Hotspring) .

To Hydrolectric where we are going to have lunch then we continue walking, passing a variety of crop plantations, till reaching Aguas Calientes town where we will spend the night in a hostal. In Aguas Calientes, you can take advantage of the thermal springs in the town (entrance 10 soles) a real treat after finishing the trek

Day 03: Machu Picchu!!!

We wake up early morning about 4 am to then to 4:30 to have the breakfast and leave walking to Machu Pichu which takes one and half hours up to Machu Picchu but there is another option to catch the first bus which leaves 5:30 to Machu Picchu (25-minutes long ) in order to appreciate the magnificent city as the sun is rising.

A walking tour approximately 2hours and 30 minutes is given by your Guide and after this you can explore the mysterious city by yourselves.A�Then you will take the train around 6:35pm so you will arrive to Ollantaytambo at around 8:30pm and aA�transport to Cusco to your Hotel.

  • All itineraries are subject to change due to circumstances beyond our control including, weather, road or trail conditions and flight schedules.
  • Train included in all tours is the Cerrojo-backpacker (Aguas calientes to Ollantaytambo) Train times will only be confirmed once full amount of tour is paid. The earliest train you could take is the 14:00 and being the 9:00 pm the last train. Saywas Expeditions will organize the transport back to Cusco.
  • Most people automatically assume that the weather is hot in South America, but because of the higher altitude in the Andes, the temperature can feel quite cold, especially at night. We recommend the use of a duffel bag or backpack, whichever is easiest for you to carry. A good size daypack is also essential.

PLEASE NOTE: May, June and July are peak months of a HIGH TOURIST SEASON in Cusco. It means that train tickets ARE SELL OUT QUICKLY!!
